In our modern society, more and more people are accessing the Internet for many purposes like research, work, entertainment, communication, shopping and so on. It cannot be denied that the Internet plays an important role in our daily life. The Internet which is a global system of interconnected computer networks needs an identifier which is their IP address to allow communications between the devices. IP addresses are managed by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) and its regional registries. It is their responsibility to assign IP addresses to various organizations worldwide. IPv4 address which uses a 32-bit address scheme serves as location addressing, network interface identification and so on.

This infographic includes data about IP address allocation in 2019 like total public IP address allocated in 2019 and IP address ownership by continents, countries, usage types and by organizations. Data collected and displayed are based on the IP Address 2020 report by IP2Location.
Overall, there are 3.36 billion public IP addresses allocated in the year 2019 and the three highest IP addresses are owned by the United States, China and Japan in descending order. Based on the infographic below, it is clearly shown that North America has the highest IP address allocation which is 46%. Furthermore, IP addresses under ISP/MOB usage type is the highest among other usage types like COM, DCH and so on.
